Bonnie Wright

Bonnie Francesca Wright, born 17 February 1991 was an English actress. She is also an actor, director, activist and actress. She is best known for her role as Ginny Weasley in the Harry Potter film series.Born in London, Wright made her professional acting debut in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (2001) as she played the role for ten years until the final film, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 (2011). Following the series, Wright appeared in a variety of independent films which included Before I Sleep (2013), The Sea (2013) as well as After the Dark (2014); the films were met with mixed reviews. In 2013, she made her stage debut in Peter Ustinov’s The Moment of Truth at the Southwark Playhouse. She also completed a bachelor's in filmmaking from the University of the Arts London. In 2012, Wright established BonBonLumiere and began making short films. She directed her first film called the coming-of-age thriller Separate We Come and Separate We Go (2012). It was released at the Cannes Film Festival to great praise from critics. Wright also directed Know Thyself (2016), which starred Christian Coulson, as well as Sextant (2016). Both were based on emotion and landscape. Wright's trilogy, Phone Calls, premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2017. Medusa's Ankles (2018) with Kerry Fox and Jason Isaacs was released by Wright. The show is based on A. S. Byatt’s The Matisse Stories. She has also directed music videos for artists Sophie Lowe, Pete Yorn as well as Scarlett Johansson. Wright is an ambassador for Greenpeace and Lumos, and has been acknowledged for her environmental activism.
